Software Maintenance Maturity Model (S3M) (Part 1)

The software maintenance function suffers from a scarcity of management models to facilitate its evaluation, management, and continuous improvement. This 2-day tutorial will present the Software Maintenance Maturity Model (S3M) as a solution that addresses the assessment and improvement of the software maintenance function. The S3M addresses the unique activities of software maintenance while preserving a structure similar to that of the CMMI© maturity model. Participants in the tutorial will be introduced to the software maintenance, the model's purpose, scope, foundation, and architecture, followed by detailed practices for maturity level 0, 1, and 2. The participants will be introduced to the assessment process and shown examples of use of the maturity model.

Rapid Software Testing

Rapid Software Testing is a complete testing methodology, developed by James Bach; it is the fastest, least expensive testing that fulfills the mission of testing. In this introduction to the methodology, Michael Bolton will describe and demonstrate the core principles and practices, which focus on tester skill, critical thinking, general systems thinking, expert and accountable exploratory testing, and fast, informative feedback.
